  • 8 Leading scientists are invited to deliver speeches in the Plenary Sessions (Grand Ballroom). We plan to have 8 plenary speakers (45 min for each) on each day including the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

  • 5 combined parallel (including 3 oral sessions and 1 workshop), and 2 purely parallel oral sessions (including 4 oral sessions).

  • 3 Oral Sessions (120 min). We will have a total of 184 oral presentations (15 min for each, 12 min presentation + 3 min Q&A;).

  • 5 Workshops that will be led by renown professors on the important topics (another 30 oral presentations).

  • 2 Poster Sessions (60 min for each, arranged during 17:00-18:00 between the oral sessions and dinner). We plan to have 150 poster show.

  • 1 Practical Design and Student Competition Plenary Session. We will select 9 presentations (10 min for each, 8 min presentation + 2 min Q&A;). The awards of this competition are going to be announced in Closing Ceremony.

  • 500 participants, 231 oral presentations and 150 poster presentations.

Plenary Sessions

There are a total of 5 plenary sessions (in the Grand Ballroom of Wanda Vista Hotel): 1 plenary session after the Opening ceremony, 1 before the Closing ceremony, 2 morning plenary sessions, and 1 morning Practical Design and Student Competition Plenary Session.

In each regular Plenary Session, two speakers will be invited, and each gives a 45 min presentation. For the Practical Design and Student Competition Plenary Session, we will select 9 presentations from the applicants, and each will give 10 min presentation.

We plan for the plenary sessions to be good demonstrations of multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary work, as well as being future oriented for the major concerning issues for both developed and developing countries. The content of plenary sessions will be recorded as video and available on the conference website after the conference.

Oral Sessions

Oral presentation sessions in Healthy Building 2023 are the sessions delivered by most of the registered participants. These sessions constitute the main body of the conference. All papers submitted and accepted will be allocated and sequenced for each arranged session according to the topics and themes listed above. A detailed timetable will be designed to minimize conflicts between parallel themes. A team of 4-5 organizing members including the Conference President and Technical Program Chair will work together for at least one dedicated week to go through every paper for the oral and poster sessions, with input from the International Scientific Committee and the President’s Advisory Committee. We plan to have 7 parallel Oral Sessions and a total of 23 Oral Sessions.

Workshops

We will follow the tradition of Workshop organization from previous Healthy Buildings conferences. These workshops are expected to cover the future science, directions, and challenges of healthy building issues. Following the practice of Healthy Buildings Conference, we will invite the Healthy Buildings community to propose and brainstorm new workshops.

The International Scientific Committee will review workshop proposals. Workshops will be chosen to reflect conference themes and objectives and will be scheduled to avoid conflict with plenary and other oral sessions. The purpose of these workshops is to allow for broader discussion, verification, and even debate of the new science problems and findings. The workshop sessions will be recorded as video and displayed on conference website after the conference.

Poster Sessions

We plan to present about 30% to 40% of the conference presentations in the form of Poster Sessions. Poster sessions provide another avenue for propaganda of authors’ study results and ideas. Poster session is arranged on Monday and Tuesday with about 70-80 posters to be displayed each day. Posters will be set up in the same areas of the morning and afternoon tea breaks.

Every participant has a vote for their favorite poster paper. Based on the votes of all participants and the panel of judges (recommended by ISIAQ Academy of Fellows), the 4 best posters will be chosen and awarded during the Conference Closing Ceremony.
